The Prisondream was formed in 1997 as a trio. In the year 2004, Keinu [a record company], released the band's debut album "Songs Of Falling Apart" which was critically acclaimed and Aleksi Koskinen directed a music video for the internet single "Reader's Digest".

Soon after the release of the album the band expanded from a trio to a quartet welcoming another guitar player, Ville Haapajoki, to the mix. Also, the band's frontman Jukka Kujansivu featured as an additional vocalist on such albums, for example, as Lapko's "Scandal" and Bitch Alert's "Kill Your Darlings". Jukka also toured UK for five weeks with Bitch Alert as their live guitarist as well as played some solo gigs, for example, in Scotland.

In 2005 the band signed with Jukeboss Records and started to record songs for their second album later to be titled: "Further Away In Silence". In February 2006 the promotional single "The Blinding Veil" was released to promote the upcoming album. The album was officially released on May 3rd, 2006.

The Prisondream is a band full of music lovers who aren't afraid of experimenting with all kinds of sounds. The band members just love music and they are very passionate about taking and making challenges.

The Latest album "Further Away In Silence" is a good example of not taking the easiest route. Inside the album sleeves, there's a short-story which is the "script" for the album. The album in itself is a story in which every reader and every listener can take a journey of their own kind. While producing the album the band members and producer Jani Riihimäki decided that the album has to be an overall experience.

Something you have to listen to for a while in order to get a hold of your feelings and thoughts. Something more than just another fast-food product for people to chew on. Something that takes the hectic living out of people and forces them to sit down, relax and listen. "Further Away In Silence" is an album full of honest feelings in the form of music.
